ABOUT PROJECT SHIELD
Project SHIELD is a firefighter-founded,
first-responder-focused initiative built from firsthand experience with the realities of the job.
What began as a question about how wearable technology could better support firefighters has grown into a broader mission: use information to create awareness, support better decisions, strengthen recovery and readiness, and help first responders build healthier, longer careers.
At its center is a simple belief: the people who protect our communities deserve the same commitment to care, maintenance, and longevity that we give the equipment they depend on.
OUR MISSION
Project SHIELD exists to use responsible innovation and wearable technology to strengthen first responder health, safety, awareness, recovery, operational readiness, and career longevity.
Our mission is to make the information already available through wearable technology more meaningful for the realities of public safety—helping first responders better understand how the job affects them and turn that awareness into informed decisions about recovery, readiness, and long-term health.
Technology should support the first responder—not ask the first responder to serve the technology.
